For the record....(no pun intended)

My elder brother called me on the phone yesterday and told me about how the Fred Meyer he went to in Portland had Beatles albums reissued on vinyl. They were something like 20 dollars a piece. I find this ridiculous, here is why:

Go to pretty much ANY used record store ANYWHERE and you will find at least one ORIGINAL Beatles album for under five bucks. I don't even actually like the Beatles, but that is beside the point. Why pay out the ass for a COMMON record when you can have a real original press for way way cheaper? Hate to break it to everyone, but Beatles records ARE NOT WORTH MONEY (with the exception of the one with the so-called "meat" cover, its kinda rare) because they were a top selling pop act for many years, so don't blow your money on a crap reissue.

I only buy reissues of things that are so insanely rare I will never have an original (like that nice copy of Erector by the band Whitehouse I got a couple weeks back), but hey- the consumers have spoken.
